The ToupTek 224C Color is a color CMOS astronomy camera designed for precise autoguiding and high-sensitivity planetary imaging. Equipped with the Sony IMX224 sensor, it delivers high sensitivity, fast frame acquisition, and low noise for imaging the Moon, planets, and deep-sky objects.
Sony IMX224 Sensor: High QE and Low Noise
The color CMOS IMX224 sensor with 1280 × 960 pixel resolution and 3.75 μm pixels provides excellent results on planets and the Moon. Low read noise, high dynamic range, and a peak quantum efficiency above 75% enable precise acquisitions even at short exposure times.
Planetary Imaging and Autoguiding
The ToupTek 224C excels in planetary astrophotography thanks to its fast readout speed. It also performs extremely well as an ST4 guide camera, ensuring accurate tracking during long deep-sky exposures.
Fast Connections and Mount Integration
The USB 3.0 Type-B port ensures fast frame download, essential for lucky imaging and real-time guiding. The ST4 port allows direct connection to equatorial mounts without additional devices.
