The ToupTek 294M Pro CMOS Mono is a cooled monochrome astronomy camera, the sister model of the 294C Pro Color, based on the monochrome version of the Sony IMX294 (IMX492) sensor. It combines high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and extremely low read noise, making it ideal for broadband and narrowband imaging of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
Sony IMX492 Monochrome Sensor with Large Pixels
The back-illuminated Sony IMX492 CMOS sensor in 4/3" format features 4.63 μm pixels and a resolution of 4144 × 2822 pixels (11.7 MP). Being monochrome with no Bayer filter, effective resolution and per-pixel sensitivity are higher than the color version.
Outstanding Low-Light Performance
With a QE peak above 80%, the 294M Pro delivers excellent results even in low-light conditions, with read noise as low as 1.42e- in HCG mode.
Dual-Stage TEC Cooling System
Dual-stage Peltier cooling capable of reaching up to -40°C below ambient temperature, reducing thermal noise during long exposures.
High Full Well Capacity
Real Full Well Capacity of 66,000 e-, keeping even very bright stars unsaturated during long exposures.
USB 3.0 Connectivity and Integrated USB Hub
USB 3.0 interface for ultra-fast data transfer, with an integrated dual-port USB 2.0 hub for accessories such as a guide camera, filter wheel, or electronic focuser.
Compatibility and Backfocus Management
Native backfocus of 17.5 mm, easily extended to 55mm using the supplied 21mm and 16.5mm spacers. Connects via T2 thread (M42x0.75).
