The ToupTek 533C PRO CMOS Color is a cooled color astrophotography camera designed for demanding deep-sky imaging. Featuring the Sony IMX533 CMOS sensor in a 1-inch format, it delivers zero AMP glow, dual-stage TEC cooling, and very low read noise, making it ideal for imaging nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters.
Sony IMX533 Sensor – 9.07 MP, 1" Format
The Sony IMX533 sensor has a 16.0 mm diagonal and a resolution of 3008 × 3008 pixels, with 3.76 μm square pixels. This configuration offers an excellent balance between field of view, resolution, and sensitivity, allowing the capture of entire galaxy clusters in a single frame.
Exceptional Low-Light Performance
Thanks to the large sensor area and optimized pixel size, the ToupTek 533C PRO delivers excellent performance in very low-light conditions. The extremely low read noise and a quantum efficiency peak above 80% make it perfectly suited for long-exposure deep-sky astrophotography.
Dual-Stage TEC Cooling System
The camera integrates a dual-stage Peltier (TEC) cooling system capable of achieving a real temperature delta of up to 40 °C below ambient temperature. This significantly reduces thermal noise and ensures consistent performance during long imaging sessions.
Zero AMP Glow and High Full Well Capacity
A key advantage of the ToupTek 533C PRO is the complete absence of AMP glow, even during long exposures. The camera reaches a true Full Well Capacity of 50,000 electrons, preventing saturation of bright stars and preserving fine details.
USB 3.0 Connectivity with Integrated USB 2.0 Hub
The USB 3.0 interface provides fast and stable data transfer at full resolution. The built-in USB 2.0 hub allows direct connection of accessories such as a guide camera, filter wheel, or electronic focuser, simplifying cable management.
DDR3 Buffer Memory and Integrated Anti-Dew System
An internal 512 MB DDR3 buffer prevents frame drops during high-speed data transfer. The integrated anti-dew system and AR-coated protective window ensure reliable operation even in humid conditions.
Standard Back Focus and Broad Compatibility
The camera features a native back focus of 17.5 mm, making it easy to reach the standard 55 mm back focus using the included 21 mm and 16.5 mm spacers. The T2 thread (M42x0.75) ensures wide compatibility with astrophotography accessories.
