The ToupTek 585C PRO CMOS Color is a cooled color astronomy camera designed for advanced astrophotography, ideal for deep-sky imaging, galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. It features the Sony IMX585 sensor in a 1/1.2" format with 8.3 megapixels and 2.9 μm pixels, offering an excellent balance between resolution, sensitivity, and frame rate.
Sony IMX585 Sensor – 1/1.2" Format
The Sony IMX585 CMOS sensor has a 12.1 mm diagonal and a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. The 2.9 × 2.9 μm pixel size allows detailed imaging of faint objects and enables wide-field astrophotography with high accuracy.
Exceptional Low-Light Performance
Thanks to its optimized photosensitive area and extremely low read noise, the ToupTek 585C PRO delivers excellent results in low-light astronomical conditions. The IMX585CJK sensor is particularly well suited for long-exposure deep-sky astrophotography.
Dual-Stage TEC Cooling System
The camera is equipped with a dual-stage TEC (Peltier) cooling system capable of achieving a real temperature delta of up to 40 °C below ambient. This significantly reduces thermal noise and improves image quality during long exposures.
No AMP Glow and High Full Well Capacity
A key advantage of the ToupTek 585C PRO is the complete elimination of AMP Glow, even during long integrations. The camera reaches a true Full Well Capacity of 40,000 electrons, preventing saturation of bright stars and preserving fine details.
USB 3.0 Connectivity and Integrated USB 2.0 Hub
The USB 3.0 interface ensures extremely fast data transfer, ideal for high-resolution files and high frame rates. The integrated USB 2.0 hub allows direct connection of accessories such as a guide camera, filter wheel, or electronic focuser, reducing cable clutter.
DDR3 Buffer Memory and Anti-Dew System
The built-in 512 MB DDR3 buffer memory prevents frame drops during acquisition, even when using USB 2.0 outputs. An integrated anti-dew system and AR-coated protective window ensure reliable operation in humid observing conditions.
Standard Back Focus and Optical Compatibility
The native back focus of 17.5 mm makes it easy to achieve the standard 55 mm back focus using the supplied 21 mm and 16.5 mm extension rings. The T2 (M42x0.75) thread guarantees wide compatibility with astrophotography accessories and optical correctors.
