The ToupTek ATLAS SH20 is a harmonic drive (strain wave) mount from ToupTek Astro's ATLAS series. It combines a BLDC servo motor, a harmonic reducer and an 18-bit encoder for smooth motion, accurate positioning and responsive guiding. The peak-to-peak periodic error is 20″ or less, and every mount ships with an individual PE test report for reliable tracking in long-exposure deep-sky imaging.
Designed to balance portability and load capacity, it weighs just 5.1 kg and supports up to 20 kg without counterweights or up to 30 kg with counterweights (loads measured at 20 cm). It suits deep-sky imaging, visual observing, EAA, sky surveys and solar system imaging.
Precision servo harmonic drive
The BLDC servo motor, harmonic reducer and 18-bit encoder deliver virtually backlash-free transmission, smooth motion and precise positioning. Highly responsive guiding allows quick, accurate corrections.
Equatorial and alt-azimuth modes
Switch from equatorial (EQ) to alt-azimuth (Alt-Az) mode with a single click, without restarting the mount. EQ mode is ideal for deep-sky astrophotography; Alt-Az mode suits visual observing, EAA, sky surveys and solar system imaging.
Lightweight, high payload
At only 5.1 kg, the SH20 carries up to 20 kg at 20 cm without counterweights and up to 30 kg at 20 cm with counterweights. Above 20 kg, use the counterweight calculated as described in the manual. The mount is compatible with both Vixen and Losmandy dovetails, for a wide range of setups.
ToupTek control system
ToupTek's in-house control system works with PC, Android and iOS and is compatible with the ASCOM, INDI and INDIGO ecosystems. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB-C you can control the mount from a mobile app, a PC or the MHC hand controller, with support for NINA, SharpCap, KStars, MaxIm DL and StellaVita.
