The RedCat 71 APO WIFD is a high-precision compact astrograph designed for both professional and mobile astrophotographers. Its 4-element Petzval optical design with FPL-53 glass ensures a perfectly flat, sharp, and color-corrected image field across full-frame sensors, with no need for field flatteners or backfocus calculations.
At the core of this instrument is the revolutionary William Optics Internal Focus Design (WIFD): a fully integrated and ultra-stable focusing system that is directly compatible with ZWO EAF autofocus motors, with no need for adapters. The dual-speed manual focuser includes a built-in analog thermometer to monitor temperature shifts during imaging sessions.
