Vai al moduloZWO AM7 Harmonic Drive Equatorial Mount
The ZWO AM7 represents the highest level of ZWO’s harmonic drive mount range, engineered for demanding astrophotography and for use with medium to large optical systems. It combines high payload capacity, certified tracking precision, and a compact, transportable design.
Thanks to harmonic drive (strain wave gear) technology, the AM7 operates with virtually zero backlash, reduced vibration, and superior stability compared to traditional worm gear mounts.
High Payload Capacity and Professional Accuracy
The ZWO AM7 supports up to 20 kg without counterweights and up to 30 kg with counterweights (measured at a 20 cm lever arm). This makes it ideal for advanced imaging setups including cameras, filter wheels, and other astrophotography accessories.
Each mount is factory calibrated to achieve a certified periodic error below ±10 arcseconds with a 288-second PE cycle, ensuring smooth and repeatable tracking for long-exposure imaging.
Dual Operating Modes: Equatorial and Alt-Azimuth
The AM7 supports two operating modes:
- Equatorial (EQ) mode for precise deep-sky astrophotography
- Alt-Azimuth (Alt-Az) mode for visual observation and flexible use
Switching between modes is fast and intuitive, allowing versatile operation without compromising stability or accuracy.
Full ASIAIR Compatibility and Modern Connectivity
The ZWO AM7 is designed for seamless integration with ASIAIR, enabling complete wireless control via smartphone or tablet.
Connectivity options include USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, along with an ST4 autoguider port, ensuring compatibility with modern astrophotography workflows.
Mechanical Design and Integrated Cable Management
Power transmission is handled by harmonic gear drives combined with synchronous belts on both axes. A mechanical brake on the RA axis secures the mount in the event of power loss.
The integrated cable management system reduces clutter and minimizes the risk of cable drag or interference during automated imaging sessions.
