Vai al moduloThe ZWO ASI294MC Pro is a cooled color astronomy camera with a back-illuminated Sony IMX294 4/3″ sensor, designed for deep-sky astrophotography in one-shot color mode. Two-stage TEC cooling reduces thermal noise in long exposures, while the high sensitivity lets you capture nebulae and galaxies even with short exposures.
Sensor, noise and cooling
The 11.7 MP sensor (4144 × 2822 pixels of 4.63 µm) has a peak QE of about 75%, a 14-bit ADC and 13 stops of dynamic range. Read noise is adjustable from 1.2 to 7.3 e⁻: at gain 120 or higher, HCG mode switches on and brings it below 2 e⁻ without losing dynamic range. A full well capacity of about 63.7 ke⁻ helps avoid saturating bright stars. Cooling reaches about 35 °C below ambient temperature (measured at 30 °C), and a heater on the protective window prevents condensation.
Data transfer and connections
The 256 MB DDR3 buffer and USB 3.0 interface ensure stable frame transfer (about 16 fps at full resolution), while the built-in USB 2.0 hub connects a guide camera, filter wheel or electronic focuser. It is compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux and with the ASIAIR controller.

Recommended use
It is the ideal choice for anyone who wants a compact, cooled color camera for nebulae, galaxies and star clusters, without the complexity of LRGB imaging. A light pollution filter further improves contrast on nebulae.
