The ZWO ASI585MC Pro is a color astronomy camera with active TEC cooling, designed to deliver excellent performance in deep-sky and galaxy imaging. The Sony IMX585 1/1.2" sensor has a 12.84 mm diagonal and 2.9 μm pixels, ideal for capturing entire galaxy clusters with sharp detail on every object in the field.
Advanced TEC cooling
The two-stage cooling system (TEC) brings the sensor to about 35 °C below ambient temperature (measured at 30 °C), ensuring minimal thermal noise even during long exposures.
High sensitivity and very low read noise
- Peak QE of 91% thanks to the back-illuminated STARVIS 2 sensor
- Electronic shutter with no mechanical vibration
- 12-bit ADC for excellent dynamic range
- Zero amp glow, with very clean dark frames
High performance and fast data transfer
- USB 3.0 port for fast frame download, up to 47 fps at full resolution (8.29 MP) in high-speed mode
- Built-in USB 2.0 hub with two ports for a guide camera or other accessories
- Anti-reflective (AR) coated window for maximum transmission
- Compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux
Built-in 512 MB DDR3 memory
Thanks to the 512 MB DDR3 buffer, every frame is recorded accurately even with heavy data traffic or when using the USB 2.0 ports.
40 ke⁻ full well capacity
With a full well capacity of 40 ke⁻, about three times that of the previous-generation IMX485 sensor, the ASI585MC Pro handles high-contrast scenes without saturating, delivering images rich in detail in both bright and dark areas.
