The ZWO ASI2600MC Pro 2025 is one of the most advanced color astrophotography cameras available, featuring the Sony IMX571 APS-C BSI sensor with a true 16-bit ADC. Compact and efficient, it delivers professional-grade images with high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and outstanding low-noise performance.
Sony IMX571 APS-C Sensor
At its core, the ASI2600MC Pro 2025 integrates the Sony IMX571 back-illuminated CMOS sensor (23.5 × 15.7 mm, 28.3 mm diagonal), offering:
- 26 MP resolution – 6248 × 4176 effective pixels
- 3.76 µm pixel size – balanced detail and light collection
- QE >80% – high sensitivity even under light-polluted skies
- BSI technology – improved performance in low-light conditions
16-Bit ADC and Dynamic Range
With a true 16-bit ADC, the camera provides wider dynamic range, smoother gradients, and superior color depth. The 73,000e- full well capacity prevents bright stars from saturating, preserving details in high-light regions.
HCG Technology and Low Noise
The integrated High Conversion Gain (HCG) mode achieves ultra-low read noise (1.0–3.3 e-) while maintaining high dynamic range. Above gain=100, HCG minimizes noise without sacrificing sensitivity.
Dual-Stage TEC Cooling
The dual-stage TEC cooling system lowers the sensor temperature by up to -35°C / -40°C below ambient, eliminating thermal noise and ensuring stable long exposures. An anti-dew heater is built in to prevent condensation on the sensor and optical window.
Zero Amp Glow
The ASI2600MC Pro 2025 features zero amp glow, even in 300+ second exposures. Optimized electronics ensure clean, uniform frames without the need for heavy post-processing corrections.
512MB DDR3 Buffer
Equipped with a 512MB DDR3 buffer, the 2025 version prevents frame drops, stabilizes high-speed transfers, and ensures reliable performance even with USB 2.0 connections.
Connections and Compatibility
With a 17.5 mm backfocus, the camera integrates seamlessly into advanced imaging trains. Compatible with M42, M48, M54, and M68 threads (with adapters), 2" filter wheels, and most astrophotography accessories. Software support includes ASCOM, NINA, SharpCap, and PHD2, running on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
