The ZWO Seestar S30 Pro represents the evolution of the smart all-in-one telescope, designed to deliver an advanced astronomical observation and astrophotography experience in a compact, fully automated system. It combines high-precision apochromatic optics, dual Sony 4K CMOS sensors, artificial intelligence, and full wireless connectivity in a single portable device.
Developed for visual observers, astrophotographers, and mobile users, the Seestar S30 Pro enables high-resolution astronomical imaging and video capture without the need for complex setups or external accessories.
High-precision apochromatic optical system
The optical system is based on a four-element apochromatic (APO) quadruplet design made with extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. This configuration ensures complete chromatic aberration correction and pinpoint stars across the entire field. The integrated flat-field design provides distortion-free images, making it suitable for deep-sky targets, nightscapes, and Milky Way mosaics.
The Seestar S30 Pro features two optical configurations: f/5.3 for the 160 mm telephoto lens and f/1.75 for the 6 mm wide-angle lens, offering excellent versatility for different imaging scenarios.
Dual Sony 4K sensors for astrophotography and video
The telescope integrates two high-sensitivity Sony CMOS sensors. The Sony IMX585 telephoto sensor (1/1.2”) with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels is optimized for galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. The Sony IMX586 wide-angle sensor (1/2”) provides the same 4K Ultra HD resolution with a 63° field of view, ideal for Milky Way imaging, night panoramas, and star trails.
Supported image formats include JPEG and FITS, while video recording is available in MP4 or AVI at 4K Ultra HD resolution.
Intelligent astrophotography capture modes
The Seestar S30 Pro includes optimized capture modes for different observational scenarios:
- Deep Sky for galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters with automatic tracking and stacking
- Milky Way mode with automatic mosaic capture and stitching up to 8K
- Solar System mode for the Moon, planets, and the Sun (with optional solar filter)
- Landscape mode for night and daytime imaging combining sky and terrestrial subjects
Thanks to the One-Tap function, alignment, tracking, and image capture start automatically with a single command.
Artificial intelligence and automated image processing
Integrated AI algorithms provide automatic noise reduction, dynamic background extraction (DBE), and real-time stacking. AI-based sky and foreground separation ensures sharp stellar detail even when terrestrial elements are present in the frame.
The automatic mosaic function enables horizontal and vertical panoramic astrophotography with intelligent acquisition planning.
Control, app, and connectivity
The Seestar S30 Pro is operated via the Seestar App for iOS and Android, featuring an intuitive interface and integrated AI voice control. The built-in database includes over 80,000 deep-sky objects and 600,000 stars, with a fully automatic GOTO function.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth, NFC for instant pairing, and USB-C for direct connection. Cloud-based remote control is supported through the Seestar Network.
Compact design, integrated battery, and internal storage
With a weight of just 1.65 kg and dimensions of 210 × 140 × 80 mm, the Seestar S30 Pro is designed for maximum portability. The integrated 6000 mAh battery provides up to 6 hours of operating time, while the internal 128 GB eMMC storage allows extensive image and video capture without external media.
