The IDAS Clear ODW is a transparent, multi-coated full-spectrum filter, designed not to alter incoming light but to occupy the same optical space as other IDAS filters of the same thickness (2.5mm). This lets anyone using a filter wheel or multi-slot drawer switch from a colored or narrowband filter to the Clear ODW without needing to refocus.
When a filter that does nothing is actually useful
The Clear ODW is useful in several practical situations: as a reference position in a multi-slot filter wheel for full-spectrum (luminance) shots, for optical calibration tests, or simply to keep the optical path constant when alternating between sessions with and without a filter. Being fully transparent across the visible spectrum, it introduces no color alteration whatsoever.
Technical specifications
Aluminum 2" ring mount, with a 48mm threaded connection. Transparent glass with a thickness of 2.5mm, parfocal with most other IDAS filters in the same category.

Suitable for anyone who already owns other 2.5mm-thick IDAS filters and wants a neutral position in their filter wheel, without having to refocus every time they switch filters. Made in Japan by Hutech Corporation under the IDAS brand.
