Drop-in filter for Canon EF full-frame lenses

The IDAS LPS-D3 filter (formerly known as the NGS1 series), in drop-in version, fits into the rear mount of Canon EF lenses designed for full-frame camera bodies. Unlike narrowband filters, it acts selectively on artificial light sources without significantly altering the color balance of broadband subjects like galaxies and star clusters.

Also effective against natural airglow

In addition to artificial light, the LPS-D3 filter also reduces airglow, the faint glow of the upper atmosphere generated by the recombination of oxygen and nitrogen after exposure to solar UV rays, a phenomenon that becomes especially visible in shots taken from high-altitude sites under very dark skies.

Designed for fast photographic optics

Thanks to IGAD coating technology, the filter's transmission curve remains stable even at the wide angles of incidence typical of very fast photographic lenses, a critical aspect for anyone photographing the sky with photo telephoto lenses rather than dedicated telescopes.

Who it's recommended for

Suitable for anyone photographing the night sky with Canon EF lenses on a full-frame camera body, in contexts with urban or suburban light pollution, without needing to modify the camera. Made in Japan by Hutech Corporation under the IDAS brand.
