Clip filter for Canon EOS APS-C cameras against light pollution

The NGS1 filter, in clip version fitted directly into the Canon EOS APS-C camera body, belongs to IDAS's LPS-D3 series. Unlike narrowband filters, it doesn't isolate a single spectral line but selectively cuts stray light sources, leaving the color balance of broadband subjects like galaxies and star clusters largely unchanged.

Also effective against natural airglow

In addition to artificial light pollution, the NGS1 filter also reduces airglow, the natural glow of the upper atmosphere generated by the recombination of oxygen and nitrogen after exposure to solar UV rays. This phenomenon becomes especially visible in shots taken from high-altitude observing sites under very dark skies, where the NGS1 filter offers a concrete advantage over an unfiltered sensor.

Designed for fast optics

Like all IDAS interference filters, the spectral cutoff was designed to remain stable even at the wide angles of incidence typical of very fast photographic optics, thanks to IGAD coating technology.
